I made this sweater for my almost 2-year-old grandson. My daughter-in-law requested I NOT made the fluffy tail, so I made the tail differently than the pattern. I searched online for lion pictures to get an idea of what lion tails actually look like and made the tail like that. I also used different colors for the lion - more "Lion King" colors than real colors. It came together very nicely. I had blue yarn left over from another sweater I had made him so used that instead of buying the brown like the pattern.

I made this sweater for my 6 year old great grandson. It was a very easy pattern to follow and alot of fun to make. I used plastic eyes and nose instead of embroidering them.

Finished this pullover 2 yrs ago. My grandson is still wearing it. I had a lot of blues left over and so I came up with this version of the lion pullover.

I was very happy with how this turned out. I did reverse the Gold and Mustard so it would look like the photo. A correction: The collar needs to be done before final seaming in order to use straight needles. I had my sweater all seamed when I figured this out, so I used circular needles for the collar, and that worked fine. My grandson wore this for his 2-yr birthday party.

Lion Pullover-Great sweater! Reviewed by Karen Ahijevych on 2012-08-17 *****
I made this adorable sweater in a Child 4 size. Note: You definitely need 4 balls of the Wood Print, not 3. Lion sent me the additional ball for no charge after I contacted them.
Judging from the photo with the pattern, the sweater shown must have had the B and C colors switched. The lion looks good either way, but I wish I had switched the gold and mustard as done in the pattern photo. The folded and stitched to the inside neck band gives a nice finished look to the sweater.
I would love to see this sweater pattern with a variety of designs on the front.

I love this design! I have made the jumper slightly differently - choosing to use this as a practice project for circular knitting from the bottom up. As a new knitter I was daunted by the idea of changing yarns for the lion pattern. Instead I chose to embroider the cute lion onto the front after I had finished the jumper. It does make the front of the jumper thicker but the weave is strong enough to keep it up. A really cute jumper that is easy to adapt to fit skill levels and is much loved.

So pleased to find this jumper with a lion on, he looks really cute, not knitted it yet. I will write a further review when I have knitted it. Many thanks, Irene
