I made this cover for my grandfather.
He got it just as winter was ending but just sent me a letter that said it had been 'just the ticket for removing neck aches.'
He really liked it and i think I will knit more in autumn to send to other loved ones.

Here are my suggestions for people who want to knit this number:
1. I found that the cover was a bit small width wise and added an additional border in grey to one of the sides, it would be easy to add on a couple of extra stitches to the border and avoid the hassle entirely.

2. I would suggest knitting a couple of rows before you start adding the button holes. It ended up looking a bit weak in the back because of pull from the buttons.

3. If you do decide to use a couple of colours make sure you are consistent with how you overlap the yarns.

4. One more thing to watch out for. I bought the bottle after I had started knitting (tsktsk). The neck on my waterbottle was a bit wider than the one i had at home and since I had not taken that into account earlier, I had to use larger knitting needles for the 'turtle neck' (which I also used two colours for).

I love this pattern. It takes something that you keep hidden and turn it into something that can go with your color sceme. Thanks to the desiner.

this project was a lot of fun to knit - you may need to adjust the pattern slightly for your unique bottle. My bottle has a wider neck.
