I love knitting toys, this lion pattern was so much fun! The mane took me a couple of tries but I got it to look nice. I will be making more Lion Brand toys, they are great for using up extra yarn from other projects.

This pattern may have been a bit above my skill level, but it has come out very cute. Instead of starting out the rounds with 2 stitches on each needle I went ahead and made the kfb on one needle and then divided. Much easier to deal with this way. I am completely stuck on the ears though. No matter how I bend and fold they don't look right and I don't know how to get them on the head. Any suggestions?

Everything about making this lion was enjoyable. Directions were clear and pretty easy to follow except for attaching the arms, ears, and mane. I figured it out, but my lion doesn't look exactly like the picture. (do they ever? :) There was one mistake I found in the directions for shaping the head, but I figured it out. I was considering adding a tail, but it's a gift for an infant so I decided against the addition.

A little difficult on 5 needles at times, but worth the effort.

Very cute! Wound up knitting this up with Vanna's Choice (no Wool-Ease in the area!) and it ended up just as cute. I also stitched the eyes and nose with the orange yarn instead of with black felt for more of a rustic feel. One thing I would note is that the seam of the arms is sewn horizontally across the body -- not vertically (how I did it).
