I enjoyed this knitting project so much! I just finished it in time for my Grand daughter's birthday! I started it in October just to have a take- along- project. I worked on it on my work lunch hour and at hair dressers and other appointments. Today is her birthday and I just finished sewing the pieces together. I think she will wear it for dance class warm ups!

This sweater is really cute and easy to work. The pattern was easy to follow.

It was easy but it looked like a droopy piece of knitting.

I did end up making this sweater. It was pretty straight forward, and I really like the finished product. I did have a problem with my tension on the diagonal front edges, so I wish I'd practiced that first, or did the left side first.

I changed the ties to be more like the Baby Kimono, pattern 70352AD. I will probably remake the ties again in the seed stitch.

This is a perfect sweater pattern for a beginner who is ready to make the jump from knitted scarves and hats to a sweater. I am a self-taught beginner. This was my first sweater and it was really easy. The stitches are basic ones and only a few intermediate stitches. I had a problem with the increases because with my gauge, the increases fell on a purl side so I just adjusted the pattern to allow my increases to fall on my knit side. It is a great way to review your basic stitches and perfect them. There are 5 pieces of the sweater that go together very quickly. Any questions I had were answered easily on the FAQ pages or on the videos, which help tremendously, especially for a beginner. I also used Vanna's Choice in Rose Mist because I liked the look of the different shades of pink. I made it one size bigger than my daughter currently wears so that she could get a few years out of the kimono (and yes, she is a ballerina!) This is really a great piece and I enjoyed making it!

Where was this pattern when I was looking for one last fall? I ended up buying one that is much harder. Unfortunately, I messed up the gauge, and I realized that when I was half way through. I think I'll switch to this one instead. Thank you, Lionbrand!
