ONce you get use to the pattern it is really easy. It looks good in a variety of different yarns

I just finished this scarf and it came out beautiful! I made it in maize Cotton Ease. I really love this yarn and have for a long time, but don't use it as much as I'd like because I tend to do more knitting in the cooler months. The pattern was easy and also very easy to remember after a few sets. I'm planning on making the 2 shawl patterns that I found that are based on the same pattern and will probably also be making this scarf again to give as a gift. Simple, but looks so much more complicated than it really is.

I noticed a couple of comments that this should be an intermediate pattern. Based upon the standard rating system, it really is an easy pattern, but it isn't a beginner's pattern. The description for an easy pattern is "Projects using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing". An intermediate pattern would be "Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing." This pattern just isn't that complicated. Lion is calling this an "easy +", which would mean it's a more complicated easy pattern. So don't be afraid to try this pattern.

I used charcoal grey Cotton-ease yarn, which knitted up very nicely. I copied the row and stitch explanation on a 5 x 8 card, as I found it difficult to remember which row I was knitting.

I am on my 5th scarf. I have 5 daughters and have made 4. Quite a pattern. Everyone loves it. Only thing is some of the consistencies on the yarn are quite different. The color Seaspray is thicker than most of the other colors so the scarf comes out shorter. I use all the yarn rather than measure to 30'. Looks better.

I really enjoyed knitting this scarf. I made it about two times longer, and gave it as a Christmas present to my sister...she loved it!! Thank you Lion Brand, you have given me a new pattern that I feel gave me a notch up on my skills level!

I agree this is more of an Intermediate level pattern. It does become easier as you go and get used to the combinations of stitches, although I recommend not trying to watch TV while you do this pattern, at least not at first!

I believe this is the same lace pattern as the Lacy Shawl (80737AD). I found the row 4 pattern easier to follow in the shawl pattern. I made this scarf in Lime. It's a great way to dress up a casual outfit and a fun, fast easy pattern to knit. I've been knitting forever, but I would rate the skill level as intermediate. I used the entire skein and got just the right length of scarf.
