ok, I really like the looks of this pattern. It is so cute. I made it with Wool Ease Thick and Quick. The bottom rolls up. I am going to make it again using Jiffy hoping that is the fix to rolling.

I love the cowl, but the instructions for finishing left much to be desired. I used the "waste yarn," got the cowl off the pegs, sewed, and removed the "waste yarn"...and it all unraveled. Such a bummer after all that. So I'd definitely take the advice of a previous reviewer about binding off the edge. Otherwise, it's a cute & quick project. Just vague directions for finishing.

it came out far better than i ever expected! it should really be under knitting patterns instead of craft patterns. but i made mine with leftover hometown usa & thick and quick my husband fell in love with it and wanted to wear it before i finished sewing in all the tails. but it a wonderful pattern and sooo quick to do i made it in 4 hours!

I am so excited. I am ABSOLUTELY a beginning knitter. I didn't know what a Knifty Knitter was. and I didn't know what waste yarn is. I found out the Knifty Knitter is a round knitting loom that is so easy to use. You can get a set of different sizes at Wal-mart. I ordered the Jiffy yarn in purple spray to go with a lavender pea coat I just bought. Then I made another in a combination of black worsted and a chunky multi-colored primarily black yarn combined. Here are two tips for you. First, sorry, but the Lion Brand pom pom maker is terrible. I found a great Clover brand that is terrific. You can whip out perfect, uniform pom poms in no time at all. The next and most helpful is that instead of using the waste yarn and then trying to catch the loops on the hem you turn over, bind the end off on the loom. There is a great Utube website called: "How to finish-cast off on a loom" Be very careful though and cast off very loosely or else you won't be able to get the cowl over your head. The cowl is really unique.
