In response to Judy...I couldn't help but notice that in your pics you sewed the sides of your knitting together, and the pattern (and their picture) shows them sewing the cast on and bound off edge together. That might be your fit problem, if I'm understanding it correctly. I haven't made this pattern yet, but I intend to. I'll edit my review then. Looks nice, though. Update: I made this and it turned out nicely! Better way to wrap: Slip the stitch you want to wrap to the right hand needle (slip it purlwise). Bring yarn to front. Slip stitch back to left hand needle. Turn work. Yarn is already in place to start knitting. DO NOT pick up the wrap when you later pass over it. This method works great for any garter stitch short rows! Try it and see. You can see the short rows in my photo.

I just learned to knit and this was my first project. I was working on this during breaks between my college classes and several classmates asked me to make some for them. To date, I've made close to 20 pairs. They work up quickly for me now and are a great way to practice garter stitch.

This pattern is super easy. I was surprised. I knit both of them within 24 hours. Once I figured out how to do the stitches that I needed for it this was so nice to start and finish without any problems. I do have to confess I didn't use Lion Brand yarn but it still worked.

Pattern is easy as it says, but I would suggest a small modification in the wording being more specific where you are to take the measurements. Once you do the short rows-one side is wider than the other and it is not clear where on the piece you are to measure. They came out good, but it took me quite a bit of wasted time trying to figure out if I was measuring in the right place. Thanks for having this free pattern available to us!

Looks very comfortable and good; I certainly shall knit this week.
