Still working on the decrease edge and found a way to get a similar look to the lacy increase edge. Here's how: on the dec row, 5 stitches from end; SSK, SSK, YO, K1. Here's how it looks.

Almost finished this shawl for my daughter. Agree with other reviews - an easy project to knit however there are some issues. Stopped increase at 110 stitches - pattern is big. I changed the decrease to SSK YO K2 together instead of K2 YO K2. Seemed to eliminate the "ridge" but still the decrease edge is different than the increase edge- don't like that. Used a bamboo blend yarn so drapes nicely.

I am actually almost done with this shawl and I'm thinking about pulling it out and making something else. It turned out much bigger than it appears in the picture and I wasn't crazy about the ridge that forms when you're decreasing. Also, I ordered the yarn online and the Sand color is much more yellow than I thought it would be. Not a nice off-white like it loos like in the pic.

I knit this pattern and would have given it 5 stars, but when decreasing the last half I noticed an extra ridge along the edge that was not there with the increase or first half. It curls up too since it is in stockinette stitch with I don't like. It was easy and fun to knit, but I won't wear it out because of the ridge not matching. I made it with the corrections.

I don't know what/if I did anything wrong, but I knitting this shawl before the corrections were made and soon after I started the "second half," I realized something was terribly wrong. It was decreasing too fast! I have only been knitting for less than a year so I was unsure of how to fix it then, and finished the shawl. The first half is beautiful; the latter looks like an isoceles triangle! I'm so disappointed, this was going to be a shawl for a friend! Also, I used the correct guage, but my shawl, at it's widest point, exceeds the max. pt. from the pattern. It is easily twice what it was supposed to be, and I do not know how this happened. I just wish the corrections had been made before I started, I'm disappointed.
