If you double the stitches across, and high, it works nicely

I used an N hook, 10mm and did 12 rows, it makes a square with the chain of 22. However, I already used 14 skeins! What did I do wrong? I count and will need about 30 squares to make a medium sized afghan. I still need to buy more yarn!

Choose any colors you like, one ball= one block, make it as big as you want. P size needle works fine. Really easy.

I made this blanket with different colors and yarn and I made it slightly bigger and it turned out great. I need to improve on my connecting the squares...but not bad for my first try. Thanks.

Poorly written pattern... Reviewed by MONICA MCKIRDY on 2009-06-13 ***
I made this blanket for a friend of mine. The picture makes it look like it's a good sized blanket, but if you follow the pattern it is about the size of a toddler bed. The crochet hook is a size P, so the stitches are really loose. If I went up to a Q hook, I think it wouldn't resemble a good blanket at all and would be more like fish net stockings! So... I added one more color to the mix and made a total of 20 squares, rather than 12. This had 4 squares by 5 squares. I put a border around it in the light oatmeal color and it looks absolutely phenomenal!

i am a beginner, and my aunt said she loved this blanket. so i decided it would make a great "thanks for everything gift". 1 week later(i work and have 2 kids), the blanket came out amazing. i did have to tweak it a little to make it the size to fit her bed, but came out amazing! thanks!
