Buy more yarn! Reviewed by Lilith Uhler on 2010-12-28 ****
While I love how this turned out, I was disappointed because it took MUCH more yarn than the pattern called for. That was quite an inconvenience for me because I bought the materials to have a project during our impending snowstorm. It was a great distraction, but that meant I couldn't go get more yarn to finish it!

Overall this is a charming pattern and I will do another one for sure.

I thought this turned out very well. I used one strand of a lighter weight yarn and it came out beautifully. I am finding it is not holding its shape as well, but I have already had a request to make another one.

I used Wool-Ease worsted weight for this pattern and did not double up as the pattern says. What I had on hand was not the super bulky yarn as is called for. I think this pattern works well with regular weight yarn and just using the single strand. I adjusted to a size 10 1/2 hook - which is still large. The size is wonderful and it is not too bulky for a scarf. It is a very easy, quick and pretty pattern. I will definitely keep this pattern on hand for future use.

I just completed this scarf and feel that the suggested yarn is much too heavy. I did run out of yarn before completing the 9 motifs but 7 were really long enough after sewing them together. Due to the weight of the yard it isn't one that you would comfortably tie around a neck. Nice pattern but it should be modified to a worsted weight yarn.

I have made six of these scarves in various color combinations (including the one shown) to give as Christmas gifts. They are easy, work up fast, and quite lovely when completed. The only complaint I would have is that they have all required a little more yarn than stated in the directions, even when I have tried using a smaller hook size. Regardless, I will be making myself one.
