5 1/2 Hour Throw Reviewed by susan winter on 2012-01-04 *****
I am a "beginner" to crochet-when I first saw 5 1/2 hrs- I thought-'sure-5 1/2 months...' but NO!! it was soo super easy-- I have made about 7 of these & gave them for Christmas/birthday & housewarming gifts! When the yarn goes on sale- off I go! Don't fear making this-turns out beautiful!!!!!

beautiful throw. I made it for my grandmother and she loved it. The only thing is the foundation row should be 46 chains and not 47.

I just made this for my mom for Mother's Day. It turned out perfectly. I do suggest however to start off with the suggested hook size for the foundation row, then switch to the next size down and complete the project. It will make the holes a little smaller and keep the foundation row from curling.

I loved making this throw! I made 3 for Christmas presents.

My first real project after practicing stitches. Very easy so far, but definitely taking me longer than 5 1/2 hours (simply because I'm a beginner).

Read several comments that Homespun is difficult for beginners to work with. However, with a S-35 speed hook, I had no trouble seeing my stitches.

I made this in two evenings. It turned out lovely. I could easily give this as a gift. If you are a beginner this is very simple.

I was really excited when I read this pattern. I love V-stitch. However, the pattern has taken me a few hours past 5 1/2 and I still haven't added the fringe. Other than this the project has been going well. It's still quicker than most afghans. Not as labour intensive. I would recommend it, just keep in mind that it may take you longer than 5 1/2 hours.
