Intarsia Polka-Dot Baby Blanket Reviewed by Sarah Johnsonbaugh on 2011-01-31 ***
I was a relatively new knitter when I made this and did not know a lot about yarns. The blanket turned out very nice - However, WHY would you make a baby blanket out of yarn that is not machine wash/dryable? I spent a TON of time on a blanket that I washed and became a giant Fuzz ball!
I know that it's my own fault, but it's frustrating none-the-less. I wish I had known to use different yarn! The picture was taken prior to washing, where it shrank and became so fuzzy.

VERY ANNOYED - Be aware that you have to knit 5 panels and then assemble them. I took a class on how to finish items, and you can still see the seams on the front (and very much so on the back). If you look at the other samples below, while all beautifully done, you can see them. But you can't see them on the sample picture! I think the sample was done in one piece. I WISH I had done the counting to figure out how to knit this in one piece from the get-go, like my instinct was telling me to do.

I love the concept of this blanket. I prefer that it be just one piece, but translating it to one piece and charting it got very time consuming so I knit it in the panel as directed. It is just gorgeous. A note to the next knitter: intarsia is time consuming and beautiful at the same time.

I really like this blanket but I wish they had this pattern for one solid blanket instead of panels. But it still turned out cute.

This is a very cute blanket but I didn't really like the outcome as much as I was hoping. After spending so much time on it, the mattress stitch didn't look the best in the back. I think I'd rather do one big blanket than panels
