I made some alterations to this sweater and it worked much better for my needs. I made it short sleeved for a girl and put seashell trim around the sleeves and bottom hem. I also split the back yoke of the sweater and put in a back zipper instead of buttons. I used a combination of homespun thick and quick and lion brand Baby Soft yarns, my daughters two favorites. I think it is a success. My daughter loves it. I think the pattern just needs to be tweaked for your own personal use and it is a great starter pattern! Thanks Lion!

I like how this turned out. My only complaint, which is my own fault, is that my neck edging crinkles(sp).

I read the reviews prior to embarking on this little sweater. I omitted the button flap and used solid colors. I tried to make it in the yarn recommended; however, by the time I achieved the correct gauge, the fabric was so tight it could stand by itself; therefore, I used a different yarn. Cute little outfit! Will definitely do this one again.

I found some of these instructions a bit confusing, so I just improvised. I was using up yarn, but didn't have enough to cover the back and front, so I made the back a solid color. I didn't use buttons.
