I made this pattern following directions, and it did not look like anything pictured. Additionally, I bought 2 balls of festive fur, but only needed one, so I'm not sure if the other reviewer is right in saying you should do 6 inches instead of 6 round, but whatever the case, following the pattern as is gives very unsatisfactory results.

I think there may be an error in the instructions: after joining the furry yarn, pattern says work even for 6 rows.

I think you may have meant 6 inches instead since 6 rows only comes to about 1 inch, and is not enough length to achieve that pouf that your picture shows.

After changing the work even portion of the instructions, I did find that the hat looks like the picture, and I just love this hat.

I'll be making several more in different colors. It's very flattering to my face, as well as warm and very cool looking.

And yes, I do live in an urban setting, and I appreciate some more sophisticated designs other than the usual town and country look.
