I made this in Lion Brand Hometown yarns. The texture is different from what it would have been with chenille, but did not unravel as the other reviewers mentioned. I wanted to make it much larger than the size in the pattern, was aiming for 60x60, which made it pretty heavy. The recipient of the afghan did like it very much.

I knitted this throw in stripes of wine and forrest green and then crocheted an edging in antique white. It turned out beautifully but the yarn is NOT easy to work with. Yes the stitches seem to be non uniform, which has not been a problem for me in other projects. It is also quite heavy but given that it will be used for warmth, hopefully that won't be a problem.

I made one in a dark color and one in a lighter color. The dark throw unraveled and looked like a giant mess. The lighter colored throw is still intact, but tight in some places and very lose in others. I'm glad I bought the yarn on clearance.... maybe I'll use the rest of it for scarfs.

It seemed to be turning out wonderfully. I was going along and it was much smaller than the pattern suggested. I also had to adjust needle size. When finished and with time the yarn was tight in some places and extremely loose in others and really did not hold up to the wear. I did not use it that much. I just wish it would have turned out better with all the money put into it. It was very easy to make.

I made this in a dark green with gold accents--it turned out beautifully but I had to adjust the hook size. I ultimately used a P hook and even so the blanket was much smaller than the dimensions published--it made more of a lap sized afghan. I even added additional border work all the way around to increase the overall size. Still, I was happy with the overall effect once it was done. I'm not sure a beginner would enjoy working with this yarn. If you are a new crocheter at least stick with lighter colors so you will be able to see the stitches more easily.
