I did a hat in grass to go with the zig zag scarf and it turned out good, fits well and keeps you warm. I checked my gauge 12 rows in (luckily it was perfect) and only used one skein and I have a bit left over :)

easy to understand pattern. i used a little more than one ball of yarn for the hat, but that is no big deal. one of my first 'real' projects. very warm hat. i used a dark gray yarn.

Love this pattern! So simple. The ribbing makes it so thick and warm. I did mine with Denim Twist and love the way it looks!

I haven't made the scarf, but the hat was quick and easy to make. It is nice and stretchy to fit about any head. I added a pompom to mine. Good hat for a beginner. Only one ball needed.
