I love this pattern! A beautiful easy effect. It's easy enough that I don't have to keep referring to the pattern, but interesting enough that I don't get bored.

And I love Lion Homespun yarn! The color variation is so pretty, and the coarse texture hides my mistakes.

Tip: I put markers every 11 sts (13 beg and end of row) so I can catch and fix my mistakes without major unraveling.

My family loves these afghans. I have made several. They are so soft and such pretty colors.

I've made this once in Dusty Blue, Windsor, and Blue Sky. I was a beginning knitter at the time so it was a little hard for me to work the pattern at first -- the result has several holes. I'm making it again now as an advanced knitter and it is so easy and wonderful to knit! My current colors are Meadow, Olive, and Herb Garden, which is creating a fantastic camouflage look for my stepson. I'm already coming up with the color combinations I'm going to use for the next three of these I make!

I'm using up a variety of red yarns that are left-overs or skeins in my stash. It took me a while to get the color pattern right, but it's turning out to be really pretty. The colors range from a pinkish-rose to a dark burgandy, four colors all together. I use the same color for rows 1-6, which keeps it looking uniform. I think i can use up more of my stash by using different color patterns.
