FurTrimmed Jacket Reviewed by Marta Stevens on 2010-02-06 *****
I made this jacket last year and am remaking it this year for my daughter. It is REALLY beautiful, much prettier than the picture. It is dressey looking but not so much that it can't be worn more causually.

FurTrimmed Jacket Reviewed by Claire on 2009-05-19 *****
This is the first clothing item that I have ever made. I consider my knitting skill as an extreme beginner, and I had no problems in following this pattern. I adapted it a little, as I prefer longer sleeves and I shaped the collar differently as well. I also put a band on the bottom which stopped it from curling. I loved it so much that I have just started on my third jacket in only 3 weeks! This time I am using a multi brown colour with a gold thread highlight. I have never before made anything which I have been able to wear, so this has been a major accomplishment for me, and I am thrilled that an extreme beginner was able to complete a 'intermediate' pattern. I just had to take some photo's to show off, and one of my cats wanted to get in the picture, and I didn't have the heart to move her. The blue one is the first one I made, I added the bottom band and the cuffs on once I had finished. The pink one is the second one I made, and knitted the band and cuffs in as I went. The result is much better. For the collar, I used 25 stitches instead of the 21 stated. For the blue jacket, I used 2 strands of white flutter and the main yarn as well, even though the pattern only calls for just using the 2 strands of flutter, this made the collar super soft and cuddly. Once the collar got to 35cm, I decreased by knitting 2 together 2 times every 2nd row until I got to the last 3 stitches, and then finished off.
I also knitted both the sleeves side by side on the one set of needles (using two balls of yarn). One of the ladies I worked with was making a baby jumper one night and used this technique to make ensure the sleeves are the same exactly the same shape and length. It made it so easy! I don't know if that is something that is commonly known among knitters, but it helped me so much! I also knitted the front panels using the same technique.
As you can probably tell, I really love this pattern. Thank you so much Lion Brand!
