It turned out a very nice scarf. I used purple colored yarn and made it for my coworker
and she just loved it.

I have made this scarf three times for three different graduating daughters of co-workers. I wanted a gift that was classy as the girls all were in the arts--two ballet dancers and one a jazz singer. All three loved them. The pattern was easy to follow and came out beautifully. Would make it again.

I haven't tried the new pattern but will soon. As has been noted, the original was wrong. It took me a few starts to realize that it wasn't something I had done in error. I worked out the correct pattern on my own from the photo.

I made the scarf as a Christmas gift; the recipient loved it! It was a little bigger as I used an H hook, but it was still very nice. It was very easy to do! In spite of its simplicity, those who don't crochet thought it was quite complicated. -)

As I said, I'll try the new pattern soon. After seeing the one I made as a gift, my wife decided she would like me to make one for her. Happy wife - happy life!

How can such an obviously simple scarf be written so horribly? I've been crocheting for years and very rarely come across a pattern that is written so poorly.

I am an expert crocheter - I have crocheted for many years and extremely complicated patterns of all kinds.

This pattern is so poorly written I don't see how anyone can crochet it from the instructions given. The photo doesn't show close enough detail to make it clear.

How can such a simple pattern be written so badly that I can't even understand it?

Bottom line: NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE IT TAKES TO READ THIS PATTERN!

I absolutely loved this pattern. It is simple but elegant and very easy to make. I made it in a neutral color and it was kinda dull, but then I made it with a black and white mixed yarn and it was beautiful! But very pretty overall. I would definitely recommend this pattern to anyone wanting a quick and simple project that would impress anyone.
