Prayer Shawl/Ministry

Our United Methodist Women wanted a project to help others, our unit is rather small, only eleven ladies. We seen the prayer shawls on your web page and researched it more on the Internet and all the ladies thought it would be good. We only have five ladies that can crochet or knit. We started the Ministry in mid May and one of our ladies is a cancer survivor. She wanted us to give them to the Cancer Center for patients taking cemo. We give to those and anyone else that wants a shawl that our minister prays and dedicates to the Lord. We have given fify nine out so far, including two baby shawls for newborns in our church.

We have heard from so many that have been healed from our shawls. Although we haven't heard from the cancer center yet. We know it's a blessing to them also.

I deliver for Mobile Meals each week and have given some to the elderly on the route and they seem to get a blessing just knowing someone is thinking of them in such away.

Our group meets every Thursday night at 7 p.m. and would like for group to grow. We love your yarn, we watch for it to go on sale at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or A.C.Moore. Since we pay for our yarn ourselves. We like to buy it by the pound, we can get a shawl out of a pound. We haven't contacted our paper about what we do. We just enjoy doing for others and trying to make our sick folks know that they're not forgotten, but loved!!
