Bonnets for Babies

When I was twelve, my cousin became very sick. He was only two when he came down with strep throat. We thought that everything would be okay until he was admitted to the hospital. His illness progressed. He was LifeStarred to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital just two or three days after being admitted in Erie. He was diagnosed with strep menengitis, then scarlet fever, another illness, and finally pneumonia.

We had never prayed so hard in our lives!

He was even on prayer lists in three or four states. It is a miracle that he is alive today and showing no signs of any previous traumatizing illness.

When I was fourteen, I decided I wanted to do something. The Children's Hospital is always in need of baby hats or blankets or other things for the sick children, so I got to work. I knitted over a dozen of baby hats in about a week or less and shipped them off with a letter to the hospital.

I hope to someday make more or possibly get a group of people to help, so when I send hats again, we could double, triple, or even more the number I first made.
