Champion at Local Fair

I do not have a story for charity, but I wanted to send you a picture of the afghan I made using Lion Wool Ease in Seaspray which won Champion at our local fair this week! (A response from customer service said to post it in customer's gallery and I can't figure that one out, so here I am.)

The story on this knitted afghan begins about 8 years ago when I was buying all of the Wool Ease I could get my hands on at any store that was clearancing out merchandise. My first crochet book was the Vanna's Afghans A to Z, and every pattern I saw I wanted to make, thus my buying spree continued. I bought every color I could find and would go to neighboring cities to the same stores to get enough of the colors I was purchasing. I bough also from the catalog when the Textures were being clearanced out. Yes, I bought and bought until I counted my stockpile that had grown to over 350 balls!! (my husband was NOT happy!) The funnest thing about all of that now is that I have several colors that have been discontinued which makes the items even more special to me. As you can imagine, I have made things for us and everyone I know over these last several years. However, I began the knitted afghan in January for my neice's wedding gift. I was not able to get it done in time for our trip to her wedding and so decided to give it to her later and try the fair. I was so glad I did and was shocked to see the Blue and Purple Champion ribbons attached to the afghan!
Thanks for making Wool Ease. It really is the softest yarn I've ever used, and I just won't buy anything else! My only advice is make even MORE colors than you all ready do for us who really love it!!!
Thanks again,
Love ya Lion!
