Knitting - Children in Common

My favourite is socks for Children in Common - recently on a trip to Russia - knit two pairs of children's socks - since we are unable to take knitting needles on the airplane - knit them while on the bus - touring the various sites - and while waiting for something to happen -
It was interesting that while In Russia - the socks were for the orphanages in Europe - so the socks came home with me to be mailed across Canada to the West coast and then returned to Europe. Socks are compact items to carry.

Fellow travellers were quite interested and expressed the wish that they should have brought something to work on. The last major knitting project was mitts for the Salvation Army - knit one hundred pairs a year for two years.

Knitting is relaxing and certainly stress reducing and heard about Children in Common on the sock knitters web page.

Sorry, cannot specify the yarns used, usually it is small bits left from a project or something that I find at garage sales, as long as it is seventy-five percent wool, to meet the criteria.
