Chemo Caps by "tlcCaps.org"

A Lion Brand E-mail...to knitting Chemo Caps...
to where we are today 'tlcCaps.org' Short Hills, NJ
(Kathi Ferrara)

It all began in October 2004 with a Lion Brand email sent to me with a Free Chemo Cap Pattern.
I read it and said to myself, 'I can SOOO do this'. By the end of Oct. I made 15 Chemo Caps with Lion Brand Fancy Fur Yarn.
They are a terrific hat because they look full, much like a wig, without having to wear a wig to run an errand.

I called Lion Brand to find out where I could send these great looking chemo caps. I was told to find an organization in my area and donate them.

Well, 'google' after 'google' showed NO SUCH ORGANIZATION IN NEW JERSEY! It seemed as though every other state from east to west had an organization in place except NJ.

I called the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Summit, NJ who referred me to the Hudson Pernatal Consortium, Inc. in Jersey City. They were thrilled to distribute my hats to the girls in need in their field of service. It encompasses 7 hospitals in the Hudson and Bergen Counties.

Alas, the feedback on these Lion Brand Chemo Caps was so heartwarming. The girls love these hats and are so grateful to receive them.
So, I have registered our organization as "tlcCaps.org", because we make each hat with Tender Loving Care, they are very fashionable, fun and easy to care for. Please note: No wool in the yarn for safe contact with the wearer.

If any knitters who I affectionately call: "Angel People" are looking for distribution of the Chemo Caps that they make, please feel free to contact Kathi Ferrara klefklef@aol.com 'tlcCaps.org' and I can help you meet your goal.
You may also mail the hats to: Hudson Perinatal Consortium, Inc.

To all who wish to knit and donate, Thank you so very much in advance for your talent and generosity.

Sincerely,
