Caring and Sharing

Keeping the world warm

I hadn't knitted for years, but with the new yarns available, I just had to get my hands onto them! I found your great web site and started printing out patterns for my notebook. All those sweet scarves are so beautiful and I took my knitting to lunch to make presents for my family. The ladies at work all wanted a scarf so I told them I would teach them to knit and were they excited! I printed off "how-to" instructions for them from the web site and now have about ten women knitting (including two of our doctors) and more wanting to start. I referred them to your patterns and instructions for the times I am not around and they get stuck.

I have a two-year-old grand daughter and I have made her a hooded sweater
(I am sending her picture)and a knitted vest trimmed in fake fur. She loves all her pretty knits. My thirteen-year-old neice is knitting, too, and I am glad to see college age students taking this with them to school.

I love the support you are giving to the Mississippi hurricane survivors. What about a new slogan: "Knit a person a scarf and they will stay warm for the winter; teach a person to knit and they will keep the world warm". Keep spreading the fun!!

Thanks, Candy Haugen
