Caring and Sharing

While so many of us love making things for ourselves and our families, many in the Lion community go further, creating for those in need. Join us in this section and be touched by these true stories of caring and sharing submitted by Lion Brand readers.

In appreciation

I am the coordinator of Project Linus in Wood County, WV.

I have a very dedicated blanketeer named Wanda Stephens. She has been involved with Project Linus since Spetember of 2003. We have meetings each month and Wanda always brings at least 5 blankets she has made to each meeting. She is always there to help in any other way needed but always has several yarn blankets going. She crochets by hand and also uses a knitting machine. Her work is beautiful.

We usually have yarn donated but when either her or I buy yarn, we always buy Lion Brand yarn.

We have taken on a huge summer project to provide blankets for each child entering our county's headstart program this year. Our goal is to make the 350+ blankets that they will need for each child. Wanda has made a huge contribution to this project with her afghans and we are now half way to meeting our goal.

Thank you for letting people tell their stories.

Deanna Midcap
Coordinator
