Scarves For Survivors

I am almost a 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor. I have met some of the most wonderful women, going thru cancer, at chemo, radiation, in support group. I wanted to give back so I talked to all my friends at work, my camping friends, breast cancer friends etc... Some of the ladies donate yarn, some crochet, knit, loom, even sew. We make scarves & hats for the Breast Center located In St. Cloud, MN at the Coborn Cancer Center. When a women goes in to get fitted for a wig she will get a scarf or hat. At this time in your life you do not feel very pretty or good about yourself so if this cheers them up for just a minute it is worth it. Sandie S. has donated her time for many, many years every Tuesday she goes to the Cancer Center to help women get fitted for a wig. I bring the scarves & hats to Sandie and she makes sure the women get to chose one. A few years ago we donated over 200 scarves. I do not keep track anymore we just keep making them & dropping them off. The center sees a little over 300 women per year.
