Caring and Sharing

Santa for Seniors

The local radio station gathers items to give to the needy senior of the area. The put in the local paper what the would like to have donated for about 600 needy seniors.

I ask the girls that are in my group (Hooks and Needles) if they would like to make some cotton yarn dish clothes, kitchen hand towels and potholders. We meet every Wednesday at the senior center. We make the items there and at home and the pot them in a box at the center all year. This year we are making hats and scarves for them. We both knit and crochet.

We ask a person from the radio station and the local newspaper to come to the senior center to accept the items and the paper to take pictures and information on who is in the group. We get more gals to join through these articles.

We have in the past made 124 lapgans for one of the local nursing homes. Also one year we made things for our Women and Children's Shelter.
