Blamkets for Babies

I knit or crochet Baby Blankets for The City Union Mission in Kansas City. It is not a group, just me. I am 80 and have knitted all my life. I call it my Idiot's Work, as usually I am doing neelepoint, or embroidery or quilting, which takes quite a bit of thought. Knitting I can do in my sleep (well almost) but I usally do not have to look at it, even when doing patterns. (this is the way my mother taught me over 75 years ago in England, you look at the pattern stitch once, then you know it). I use Lyon brand yarn if it is available, but you see I work at the Thrift Shop here in John Knox Retirement Village, and so I buy all my yarn in the Thrift Shop for just a few pennies, and then I just knit the baby blankets. I sent 14 to the Mission about a month before Christmas, and have now started piling them up again. Of course I also knit for my new Great Granddaughter, doing her a sweater at the moment, nearly finished. You name it, I either can or have knitted it, and most of the time I enjoy doing it. The reason I call it my Idiots work is because I do it when I am too tired to do anything else, and I am watching something stupid on T.V. (welll most of it is and not worth watching). Thats my story. Happy New Year, and when I do have Lyon Brand really enjoy using it, so if you have any to spare would be glad to have it. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Sincerely W. Joan Hall. P.S. If I knew how to send pictures on this computer I would, but maybe I will learn that this year. O.K.
