Knittings for Our Troops

I have long been a user of Lion Brand yarn and love to knit and crochet.

I recently read somewhere on line about the need for knitted hats for the troops to wear under their helmets during the winter in Iraq.

I found an easy pattern and have been making one or two hats a night while watching tv. It's easy and Lion Brand has the dark colors needed to make these hats. I would hope our troops will not be in Iraq next winter but I don't think that will happen so I knit.

There is nothing more worthy than letting our troops know that we remember they are still fighting for us and I would like to make a little bit of difference in their comfort. If just one person stays warm because of a hat I've knitted, then I will be a happy person.

This is just a small thing I can do for them when they are doing so much for us.
