Caring and Sharing

While so many of us love making things for ourselves and our families, many in the Lion community go further, creating for those in need. Join us in this section and be touched by these true stories of caring and sharing submitted by Lion Brand readers.

Tiny Tots

In Feb., 2011 I started a group called Tiny Tots. It consisted of 12 ladies who knitted, crocheted, sewed blankets, hats booties and quilts fore Sister, a nun who lives in Georgetown, Delaware. She takes care of pregnant women who live in the lower Sussex County of Delaware. Today, Tiny Tots has 30-40 women involved in amking baby items. Sister disteibutes these itemd to Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford, De, LeRed Clinic, Georgetown, DE and any other needy mother. We meet once a omth at St. Ann's in Bethany Beach, DE and we sew, knit and crochet baby items. We deliver 10 blanket sews, 30 quilts, and 25 fleece teddy bears to Sister Rosa. Approximately 30 babies are born a month. I would strongly encourage anyone who loves to knit or crochet to call their local hospital or church and volunteer their time to needy babies. I use all Lion Brand yarns. I especially like your baby colors and the easy care of the finished project.
Thank you for the time you have given me to share my experience.
