Using my Gift to Gift

I am a 25 year old mother of boys who learned to crochet about 6 years ago, but only recently started to crochet avidly within the last year. My sole purpose for learning to crochet was because I wanted a scarf, but didn't feel like paying $15 for something so impersonal and itchy from a store. Oddly enough, I never made that scarf. I started with a baby blanket, then a hat, then a scarf for my husband, then hats for my kids, the list goes on and on. I found more joy in crocheting for others.
During this time, I had strayed far from god and was looking for my way back. I believe that God allows us certain talents so that we may use them for His glory. I knew that God had taught me to crochet for a purpose.
I soon found that purpose when I returned to His arms during the Easter season of 2008. My pastor had announced that he was going to Ecuador. Suddenly, there was a fire beneath me. I had no money of my own, for my husband was the sole provider in our household, but I had plenty of yarn and plenty of time. I found a beautiful starghan pattern and made it wondering where it was going. Suddenly it dawned on me that I should donate this balnket to the church to use for Ecuador. I talked to my assistant pastor and he suggested an auction in which the members could bid on paper for the starghan. I had finally found my purpose, but God had other things in store for me.
I then had a burden for a young mother that I saw all the time. I made her a shrug and left a note telling her to "shrug" off her problems and take them to God. I left my name as anonymous so as not to draw attention to me and away from His blessings. I later found out that she and husband were having difficult times. I was glad that God had led me to use my gift to gift.
