Shawl from Fun Projects for the Family Booklet

I have been on disability for over a year waiting for a lung transplant. Knitting and crocheting have become a passion. Small projects are great to take along to doctor appointments. There are many ways to help organizations with these skills.

I love shawls and was thrilled with the latest crochet pattern in Fun Projects for the Family. I followed the colors in the instructions using Recocca (sp?) Homespun Yarn and trimmed the shaw in Sandstone Fun Fur. Although the instructions indicated the shawl could be made in approximately 3 hours using a large hook, I spent almost two weeks (off and on) finishing the first one. I quickly crocheted another shawl with the same pattern and used a shade of pink Homespun and Fun Fur.

The first shawl will be auctioned at the Leukemia / Lymphomia Midsummer's Gala on June 21st in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. All proceeds go to this worthy organization.

I am also a member of the Binky Patrol (crocheting blankets) for babies and youth in need locally. But that's another story!

I am grateful to use Lion Brand yarns because the results are wonderful.

Sincerely,
Barbara Worden,
Camp Hill, Pennsylvania
