Caring and Sharing

Linus Blankets

A friend who quilts at the Senior Citizens where I volunteer with my Dad, saw me crocheting & knitting & asked if I would be interested in crocheting around fleece blankets for the Linus project. They give the blankets to hospitals, emergency rooms, ambulances, fire stations so when a child is injured, a family member hurt, or a fire or accident affecting a child's family, a blanket is given. I have crocheted around many blankets. I make them all different depending on the patterns on the fleece. Some for girls, frilly & for boys, colorful and more plain, but try to have a interesting stitch. I use yarn I already have so all it takes is time. Once in a while I need a certain color I don't already have, so I will buy a skein here & there. Some make quilts for the Linus Project & I saw one blanket that was braded on the edges with the fleece. It was really neat.
Love to see the next fleece & come up with an edging to go with it.
