This was a cute giraffe! I decided he needed a mane, so I did a small shell pattern - instead of the traditional double crochet, I did:
ch 24
ch 2 (turning chain), turn
in 3rd ch from end, *3sc, skip 2 ch, 3sc - repeat until end, sew to back.
