Basketweave-patterned cardigan

Materials: Lion Brand Wool-Ease "Chunky" in "Bay Harbor."

My husband Jonathan's cardigan is something I'm exceptionally proud of. The pattern is an original (I basically used existing sweaters as a visual guide in creating Jonathan's cardigan).
It was crocheted using Lion Brand "Chunky" in "Bay Harbor." With that kind of name for the color (blue, with multi-colored fibers), pewter buttons with viking ships seemed somehow appropriate.
Cuffs and edging is in single crochet; and the body of sweater is in a "basketweave" of alternating single crochet and skipped single spaces. The sweater won a second-place ribbon at the 2002 Lake County Fair (in Lake County, Calif.)
