Baby sweater and hat set
Created By: Lori Buswold
Pattern Source: other:

I found myself with three things that almost never happen at the same time. Extra yarn, a good idea for a project, and alone time to make the project. The first two happen a lot, but with 4 young children - time alone to work on crochet projects almost never does!
The body of the sweater is a pot holder that splits in half halfway through making it, and the sleaves are two more pot holders! I put a ruffle on the edges to doll it up. The hat is a simple baby beanie with a fun edge, and the booties are made up as I went along. The toe is like a very small hat, and the heal goes back and forth half way around the toe part. I conect at the top of the heel with a slip stitch when it gets long enough, and then go around and around again a few times where the baby's foot would slip in to make a top to the bootie.
This was an original pattern all the way around. It's what my husband and kids call Zen crochet. I just zone into what I'm doing and just let it happen.
