When I was a child, kitchens in England in the 1940's and 50's were the warmest rooms in the house in winter. No central heating in those days. Therefore, it was important to keep the tea in your tea pot nice and warm so that yould could really enjoy a lovely hot cup of tea. Tea cosies were knitted from oddments of yarns by moms and grans and aunties all over England and frequently sold at Christmas and Holiday Bazaars to those would didn't knit. Today I love designing and knitting original tea cosies. These three were made using Lion Brand Woolease Worstead weight, which knits up beautifully, and is perfect to work with.
