I made this blanket for my soon to be neice. Since so many people are having babies I have to come up with creative blankets to keep things interesting. This baby blanket was made using Lion Brand Homespun in Coral Gables, Montana Sky, Sunshine State, and Florida Keys Green. The ducks came from a chart shown in Family Circle Easy Knitting Winter 2004/05 by Amy Bahrt. I wanted more of a stripe pattern so I created a stripe pattern using numerous colors. After the sectio with the ducks I reversed the stripe pattern. The ducks are cute as the bill lifts up to reveleal a fish I crochet and attached with a bit of batting behind them to make them puffy. I did the entire blanket in garter stitch to give the blanket more texture and make it quicker. It is bright and cheery and the colors are primary so they are suitable for boys or girls.
