It's been years and years since I crocheted and never anything more than a square or a rectangle. I was inspired by the Martha Stewart "Coming Home" poncho. I practiced and practiced to get good enough. During my practices, I discovered Lion Brand Wool-ease Thick and Quick. I made my poncho changing the original directions to 10 skeins of color Wood T&Q. I love this poncho. It works as good in the fall of New England as the Arizona Grand Canyon and high country. Never before have I followed a pattern. I really didn't have any trouble until I got the the second row of the scalloped edge, but after 5 tries and a week later, I figured it out. I have so much more confidence now and have already bought yarn for dozens more projects.
