A coworker had this cute hat on and asked about it. She said her mother in law made it for her and is fairly easy to make. She called her mother in law to get explanation of pattern and relayed it to me. So I went out to find a perfect yarn.
Ch 5, loop together. Start double crochet through middle hole until around and flat. Ch 3 then continue to double crochet while increasing 1,1,2,1,1 until desired diameter. I did till about 6 in. Single crochet around to get edge. Then continue to double crochet decreasing until diameter fits head size and then single crochet a few rows. Add pom pom if desired.
