Prayer shawl
Created By: J Jessika
Craft: knit
Materials: I used Lion Brand Homespun, 3 balls of 367 Covered Bridge Red. It is a beautiful colour, and not quite as severe a red as the picture makes it appear. It is actually lovely and warm.
I used a pattern from a local Prayer Shawl group- casting on 63, k3,p3, ending with k3. It is about 5 feet long.
Pattern Source: book: Prayer Shawl
When our little girl was undergoing chemo, a friend from work gave me a prayer shawl. I had never heard of them, and it brought me so much comfort. Then, we lived in the hospital full time in the last month before our little girl passed away, and I was given another shawl. Now that more than a year has passed, I wanted to learn how to make them so I could provide the same comfort that I received.
I am making this first one for my Grammer, who just started a new chemo protocol today that will continue for 9 weeks. I just need to learn how to do the fringe and then it will be complete!
