Drawstring Circle Bag Variation
Created By: KIMBERLY WOOD
Pattern Source: other:
This was another new pattern for me to try. It is a circle bag with drawstring closure. I worked the patter as guided however only used 2 colors where the pattern used 3, used a 5.5mm hook (I)instead of the 4mm (F) in the materials list and added a strap. I wanted to add the strap to be more of a shoulder bag as opposed to a purse, as the niece this bag is for is more of a tom-boy. I also changed the drawstring from a twisted string, to a simple chain stitch with both colors, one for each side, though I think it would work fine with just one very long one, and used a simple wood toggle bead for a way to keep it closed. The thickness of two drawstring ends through the bead is enough for it to be secure. For the strap I used both colors together starting with a simple single crochet to attached it to the bag at the bottom edge enough stitches for a decent strap, double crochet to the desired length, then attached the strap to the top of the bag 4 or 5 rows below the drawstring with single crochet.
