Slipper Sock & hats
Created By: Cathy Kenny
Craft: knit
Materials: I used Wool Ease for the slipper socks and one of the hats. The other hat was made from Vanna's Choice yarn (I ran out of the light color so added the darker color at the top to compliment and finish the hat!).
Pattern Source: otherCo: Flat Knitted Slipper Sock
The picture is of my first contribution to SGT KnitWitty of Operation Caregiver. I read about this group in the Lion Brand Yarn Newsletter. The knitted items will go to the troops in Afghanstan. I really am enjoying the knitting for our troops and can have "prayer socks" instead of prayer shawls for all of them! I'm not sure if this is Eva's original pattern for the socks, but I think it might be. Never having made any sort of sock, I was a bit nervous when Eva asked me to concentrate on making the slippers. The pattern is actually very easy and Eva's feedback was wonderful. She has also sent us other patterns (and crochet patterns) to use as we see fit. It's great to be part of this effort to comfort our troops!
