As a new crocheter, I crocheted three washcloths and then attempted this blanket for my fourth project. It was very easy to follow. My gauge was correct in width, but not in height, so I had to crochet more rows to make it a square. After doing the first row of finishing, I ran out of yarn, so I used another skein of a different color to finish it off. Instead of doing the 2nd row of finishing with my new color, I did another row 1, then the shell pattern. The edge probably would have been more "lacy" had I strictly followed the pattern and not done an extra "row 1" of finishing. I like it though - very pretty!
