When I saw Rags the Teddy Bear on the cover of the February 2002 Crochet World, I knew I had to try this pattern. I'm an avid crocheter and avid collector of teddy bears with personality. Paula Young created the pattern and the sample was completed with Lion Brand Micro-Spun sport weight yarn. I had never worked with any micro-fiber yarn before and didn't want to take the chance of using a substitute on such a beautiful project, so I ordered the Lion Brand Micro-Spun. As you can see, completing this project was very rewarding!
This project took me approximately 45 hours to complete. Crocheting the body and assembling went fairly quick but I had to develop a rhythm for latch-hooking the fur. I found that the latch-hooking seemed to work better when I worked from bottom to top and to the left. This allowed me to see where I was working without interfering with what was already finished.
Great pattern and great yarn with some time and patience make a great teddy bear!
