After being in hospital last year after a serious fall, I decided to follow through with something I had often thought of doing - making hats for newborns. As our local hospital does not care for tiny preemies, their need was for hats for full term babies. I adapted the So-Soft Preemie Hat (the crocheted version) to the size the hospital needed. Then in late Fall, I decided to make red and white hats for the babies born at Christmas. I made 24 of the Christmas hats. I plan to do the same this year for Christmas babies. I also thought it would be nice to make the hats a little more 'girlie', so I added a frill at the bottom instead of the turn-up cuff. Since last August I have donated well over 100 hats.
