My mother discovered this pattern in an old pattern book circa 1970's and loved the look of it. So, as a surprise I made the blanket for her.
I was thrilled with the end result but made some major changes to the pattern. Instead of using single crocket stitches and changing wool colours for the pattern, I used an afghan hook and stitch so it created blocks within each stitch.
I completed the blanket in solid blue the cross stitched the pattern onto the blanket. My mother loves it and keeps it on her bed all year long.
