I got the pattern from a website that reproduced a pattern from a 1940's Wife and Home magazine. There was also a tiger pattern, but I haven't made it.
The mane called for making three loops by wrapping the yarn around a needle and pulling through. I didn't have much luck doing that, so I used Fun Fur for the mane. I am pleased with the result. The rest of the lion was made with scrap yarn.
