After my mom recently taught me to knit and I made the obligatory dish cloth, I chose this shawl as my very first "major" knitting project. It is all knit stitches; no purling involved, so it was very easy to do. My mom was afraid I might get bored with "just knitting", but I wanted to do it to gain confidence before trying other stitches. I used 4 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun Ocean (406) and the shawl turned out beautifully! It was a fun first project and I'm proud of the outcome. My next project will be a knit and purl scarf.
