Shawl collared cardigan
Created By: Bruce Stigers
Craft: knit
Materials: Lion Brand Wool Ease Fisherman
Pattern Source: lionbrand: Shawl collar cardigan
I made this for one of my daughters. She is a big girl and I thought the fact that the cardigan had no closure was a real plus as exact fit across the bust was less critical. Furthermore, the pattern calls for using two strands of worsted weight yarn helt together throughout, so it's a very substantial garment. I was interested in the challenge of using the short row technique to build the width of the shawl collar. Since the entire outer edge of the assembled garment has stitches picked up around it to create the shawl collar, it's hard to handle at that phase but certainly not impossible. I was more than gratified by the results. Picture included for your edification.
