Wrapped in Love and Prayers
Created By: Linda Earl
Pattern Source: other:

I first found out about the Prayer Shawl Ministry when I saw a book about it at Wal-Mart. So far I have given 3 shawls and am finishing up two more. The first one I gave went to a 90 year old lady in my church who is now home bound and unable to attend church. She had tears in her eyes when I gave her the shawl and couldn't believe that someone would take the time to do this for her. My second shawl went to an 88 year old lady who worked as a cook at my school up until this year when poor health forced her to retire after Christmas. She had tears in her eyes when she hugged me and told me "thank you". My third shawl also went to a lady in my church who is in poor health but attends whenever she can. The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been a blessing to these ladies but has also blessed me. I use the Prayer Shawl pattern on the Homespun yarn sleeve and really like this pattern because I am able to knit while watching TV and not have to count stitches. The shawl is so soft and comforting and I am planning to make many more.
